PRESENTATION:
STORYTELLERS:
At present there is a worrying tendency on the part of the media to concentrate in a single figure the tasks that are typical of a team of informants. At OAK stories we believe in the specialization and quality of those projects in which each professional plays his or her own role. This course is mainly aimed at graphic documentary filmmakers who want to learn about the dynamics of teamwork when telling stories.
To this purpose, the workshop will be divided into two parts: The first of theoretical nature will cover the three main phases of the development of a project – pre-production, execution and post-production – seen from 4 different points of view, but giving special importance to the relationship between the photographer and the rest of the team in the different stages; a total of 5 hours with 2 professionals from different branches of the documentary field beyond photography: cinema, journalism and research. Throughout these sessions, OAK stories professionals will showcase their teamwork throughout the life cycle of a complete project.
The second will have a duration of 5 hours and will focus on the creation of workgroups in class, where each member will assume a different role from the photographer in order to empathize and understand the needs of other team members, and must work together in a pre-production simulation of a documentary project.
