Ni una menos es un proyecto a largo plazo sobre la violencia de género y los movimientos de mujeres que luchan por los derechos.
Desde Argentina, estoy documentando esta plaga en países fuertemente afectados por ella a través de las historias de mujeres que han sufrido violencia, sus familiares y la lucha de los movimientos sociales nacidos para luchar contra la violencia y proteger a las víctimas. En Argentina actualmente una mujer es asesinada cada 28 horas. Aquí, en 2015, se creó el colectivo feminista «Ni una menos», un movimiento de protesta que está luchando contra la violencia de género en muchos aspectos diferentes y que se está extendiendo a otros países de América Latina, recientemente en Europa y Estados Unidos. El fenómeno de la violencia de género es tan masivo que es transversal: desde la infancia hasta la edad adulta, no hay clase social ni condiciones excluyentes. Particularmente grave es la situación en los numerosos barrios pobres de las ciudades, donde la criminalidad es elevada y los jóvenes están en peligro. La línea común que tristemente conecta a muchos países es la violencia en todos sus aspectos (doméstico, psicológico, físico, económico). Creo que es muy importante dar visibilidad y voz a las víctimas que no la tienen, inspirando a más de ellos para que se presenten a contar sus historias y presionar a los gobiernos.
Ni una menos is a longterm project about gender violence and women’s movements fight for rights.
Starting from Argentina, I’m documenting this plague in countries heavily affected by this plague through the stories of women who have suffered violence, their relatives and the struggle of social movements born to fight violence and protect the victims. In Argentina currently a woman is killed every 28 hours. Here, in 2015,it was created the feminist collective ‘Ni una menos’, a protest movement that is fighting against gender violence on many different aspects spreading to other Latin American countries, recently in Europe and USA. The phenomenon of gender violence is so massive as to be transversal: from childhood to adulthood, no social class and no conditions is excluded. Particularly serious is the in the many slums of the cities where criminality is high and the youngster are in danger. My goal is to continue documenting this topic in the world.The common line that sadly connect many countries is violence in all its aspects (domestic, psychological, physical, economic). I believe that it’s very important to give visibility and voice to victims who doesn’t have it, inspiring more of them to come forward to tell their stories and bring pressure on the governments.
