Universo Railowsky, en sus 61 minutos de duración, relata las dificultades del dueño de la librería por mantener el negocio, sus eternas dudas sobre si vale la pena tanto esfuerzo, y como distintos colegas y fotógrafos le animan a seguir. En un tono irónico y desenfadado, va contando distintos episodios de su vida y de la librería y fotogalería, como es por ejemplo el origen del nombre de la librería. Es en definitiva, un homenaje emotivo a dos profesiones de “alto riesgo”, la de librero y la de fotógrafo.
Los héroes de nuestro tiempo no se dedican a rescatar doncellas cautivas custodiadas por dragones, ni a abatir gigantes o librar batallas. El héroe posmoderno es ese ciudadano de a pie, casi siempre anónimo, que resiste los embates de la crisis y se mantiene firme en la cuadrícula del tablero, en defensa de su dignidad y su pasión por lo que hace.
Un homenaje a todos esos héroes de la resistencia, representados por un pertinaz librero del Ensanche, es el documental ‘Universo Railowsky’, de Rafa Casañ y David Molina y realizado por Endora Producciones, uno de los 34 preseleccionados a los Premios Goya. Casañ, guionista y pintor, y Molina, fotógrafo de profesión, son clientes y amigos de Juan Pedro Font de Mora, propietario de la librería Railowsky que nació hace 27 años en Valencia especializada en la fotografía. A él lo han convertido en protagonista absoluto de su proyecto, como un personaje que se interpreta a sí mismo.
Se trata de un documental realizado en clave de humor sobre las aventuras y desventuras de un librero en Valencia, que no todo van a ser penas. A través de la historia de un día en Railowsky se van desgranando las eternas dudas del librero ( Juan Pedro Font de Mora ) sobre la conveniencia de seguir en este negocio ruinoso. A lo largo del documental distintos personajes del mundo de la fotografía y el libro animan a Juan Pedro a seguir adelante. Participan en el mismo, los fotógrafos Alberto García – Alix, Chema Madoz, Alberto Schommer y Bernard Plossu. También participa la directora de la Fundación Cartier – Bresson. Así mismo contamos con el catedrático de Estética de la Universitat de València , Román de la Calle, antiguo director del MUVIM. Especialmente emocionante es la participación de Jean François Coche, librero del barrio latino de París. Juan Pedro realiza un alegato final basado en la teoría de los “caballitos pequeñitos”.

Railowsky universe, in their 61 minutes in duration, tells the difficulties of the bookshop’s owner to maintain the business, his eternal doubts as to whether it is worth so much effort, and as different colleagues and photographers encourage him to follow. In an ironic and casual tone, he is telling different episodes of his life, his library and the photo gallery, as it is for example the origin of the name of the bookstore. It is an emotional tribute to two professions of «high risk», the bookseller and the photographer.
The heroes of our time are not dedicated to rescuing maidens captived that are guarded by dragons, neither giants to abate or fighting battles. The postmodern hero is the citizen, almost always anonymous, which resists the assault of the crisis and stands firm in the grid of the dashboard, in defense of their dignity and their passion for what they do. A tribute to all those heroes of the resistance, represented by a stubborn bookseller of the Ensanche district, is the documentary ‘Universe Railowsky’, Rafa Casañ and David Molina and carried out by Endora Productions, one of the 34 shortlisted to the Goya Awards. Casañ, writer and painter, and Molina, a photographer by profession, are clients and friends of Juan Pedro Font de Mora, owner of the bookstore Railowsky who was born 27 years ago in Valencia specialising in photography. He has been the absolute protagonist in their project, such as a character who sees himself.
This is a documentary made in the key of humor on the adventures and misadventures of a bookseller in Valencia, that not all are going to be punishment. Through the story of a day in Railowsky the eternal doubts of the bookseller are going to dissipating ( Juan Pedro Font de Mora ) about the benefit to carry on in this dilapidated business. Throughout the documentary different characters from the world of photography and the book encourage Juan Pedro to go ahead. Participating, the photographers Alberto Garcia – Alix, Chema Madoz, Alberto Schommer and Bernard Plossu. The Director of the Fondation Cartier- Bresson participates too. Likewise we have with the professor of aesthetics at the University of Valencia , Roman de la Calle, former director of the MUVIM. Especially exciting is the participation of Jean François Coche, bookseller of the Latin Quarter of Paris. Juan Pedro performs a final plea based on the theory of «Tiny Seahorses».
