Juan Manuel Castro Prieto began his photographic career in a self-taught way although he had a degree in economy. At the beginning of the 80s, he joined the Real Sociedad Fotográfica de Madrid and since then his career has not stopped growing until he won the National Photography Prize in 2015. Castro Prieto has traveled many countries (Peru, India, Ethiopia …) capturing the character of their peoples and the magical atmospheres of their landscapes. His photographs have been the subject of numerous publications and have been exhibited on dozens of occasions around the world, including at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
